  • PART 1

I have found from my experience, that the "need hot food in the winter" is mostly in my head. I had a few weeks eating cooked food (mid Dec to mid Jan) and when i got back on to all raw, it wasn't all that tough. I just got used to it. One thing we talk about in raw circles about hot food is, use "warming spices" such as fresh ginger and cayenne in your dishes and they help to warm the body. both are excellent for the metabolism, digestion, and keeping the liver working well.

  • Very interesting what you say about "I don't think either of these two elements would have been nearly as powerful alone as they were together." I had a first positive "bout" with raw in the fall but don't feel like cold food this time of year. "I need hot food - is it true?" :) From your story I'm also taking away that a gradual approach may very well work.

  • Good for you! Congratulations on the wonderful job too!

  • Congrats on being 100% again. It sounds like your doing really good. It's cool that your organizing the retreat.

  • How cool!! Congrats on your new job - that's so fantastic!
