Ph.D - Little Susie's On The Up

Originally written and performed in 1981 by the band Ph.D. The band consisted of Jim Diamond, Tony Hymas and Simon Phillips. The band members took the first letters of their last names to come up with PHD. This song was later rerecorded by the rock band Tesla where it became a big hit for them.

Why is it impossible to get this on CD? I know the Tesla version is available but they've managed to suck the magic out of this song with their bland 80s hard rock sound, characterless vocals and whatever it is they managed to do to kill the chorus. The song itself is great though. It's probably the Jim Diamond touch.

I was a freshman in High School when this came out. Don't remember it but like everyone else I remember the Tesla version. Saw this on MTV30 for the first time and was shocked. At first I compared it to the Tesla version and laughed at it. Then the nostalgia factor sank in, and I stopped hearing his voice and the background music took over.
