Cage is a good actor, he's just the type of actor who usually plays one guy.

When Jim Carrey or Ahnold or Christopher Walken shows up in a film, you know exactly what to expect. Walken isn't payed to act...he's payed to just be himself on the screen.

But watch "Primal Fear" and "Leaves of Grass" with Edward Norton and you will see 4 completely different personalities.

Watch "Dr. Strangelove" and you won't even realize Peter Sellers is playing 3 of the star roles.

Relaxed because of the ambient noise but on edge because, despite the title, I am convinced he is just going to scream and ruin the silence.

I agree. He's a great actor and he's no stranger to the camera, but his agent needs to be smacked through a wall. If he would learn to find roles that are good for Cage, he might give better performances.
