DWP Music Services, also known as Deal Witit Productions, was founded in 1996 by Walt E. Nelson. In its early years, DWP was primarily a studio that did recording for several up and coming artists from the Metropolitan Detroit area. As business began to flourish, DWP diversified to offer more services for independent artists, songwriters, musicians, and record labels that want to manage a career in the music business. In addition to studio services, we offer graphic design, CD duplication, web development, and creative writing services. We have a professional staff of music engineers, producers, graphic designers, and writers to whom we assign customer projects. Each staff member is responsible for completing his/her assignment using DWP's set of quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction. Our goal is to deliver excellent quality products and services at very affordable prices.

Through the internet, we have made our products and services available to musicians throughout the country. The DWP Support Network is made up of three powerful ecommerce websites. All of the sites have tons of free resources for musicians and entertainers, but each site has its own unique identity.

www.dwpmusic.com - This site offers mainly studio services such as recording, CD mastering, music production, and studio training. You will also find e-books and software products that were developed by DWP. You can book your recording sessions online or order a CD mastering job, upload the tracks, and have a mastered disk mailed to your address.

www.samplegiant.com - SampleGiant specializes in high-quality audio production samples for use in electronic music production, flash projects, radio broadcast and video production. All sample packs are available for digital download, on CD-ROM, or other optional formats.

www.indieprintusa.com - IndiePrintUSA specializes in full color offset printing for the entertainment industry. This site is a one-stop online printshop for entertainers and event planners. You can order high quality flyers, brochures, business cards, CD/DVD inserts, postcards, posters, tickets, and more.

Since opening in 1996, DWP has helped hundreds of musicians throughout the country reach there goals. We'd love to help you too. Browse our websites, and see for yourself why DWP Music Services is "The Independent Musician's One-Stop!"

  • I was just wondering about your monitoring sir. It doesn't seem your monitoring is set up properly. Please, no offense. Just wondering.

  • Hey, dazzelya no offense taken. We use Behringer Truth monitors to monitor our mixes. The big Yamaha speakers are only used when clients want to hear what the music may sound like in the club. The video is slightly misleading. I'm sitting in front of another computer station and the vocal booth is to my left. We record vocals from this DAW. The video monitor between the speakers is a split screen of the monitor I'm sitting in front of.

  • Alright, It's obvious what the big speakers are for. I was just wondering why I couldn't see an equilateral triangle for the near fields.

Cool vid. I'm sure it will inspire some people out there.

  • Yeah, you're right. I used to have my near fields set in an equilateral triangle, but for some reason I turned them straight. Must have thought it looked better. lol

  • A Question please - How should a producer of a independence record label present a new release for airplay?-- How to write a letter, pictures to use and any information that will be helpful to me..I would love to look professionally to the program director..

  • Haha, if I do that my mixes fall apart :)

Anyway, I visited your website and it seems you provide quite a big package. My way of working is slightly more 'boutique' but you have some nice info on your site. The only thing I couldn't find were audio examples from clients who have been through your doors! A must IMO. At the moment I can't share anything as I'm re-opening in august once the construction is done. I'll send you the link in due time. Keep up the good work.

  • Besides acquiring the knowledge needed to be able to do this type of thing as a full time job, study the business side of things. There is a LOT you need to know to not only open up a business but to successfully maintain it. Knowledge and preparation is key. They more knowledge you obtain the clearer it become what there is left to learn.

I own a professional recording studio myself (currently under expansion) and worked myself up to it for years (in terms of preparations). Good luck!

  • im starting out exactly like you, im studying music tech 3 yr now and im running a studio from my home recording local artists, basically i wana run a buissness exactly like this one. just dont know how to start it all off

  • thank you
