The classic Santo and Johnny song covered under the Jack Conte rules for making a "video song". Basically - every thing you hear is videotaped as it is recorded. If you hear it - you see it. My friend Vic lent me his dobro recently and I thought THIS would be an excellent application. Note: The video / audio synch is a little off - especially for the dobro track, I noticed... Oh well. ENJOY! ALMOST forgot: I need to thank my good friend Hank for recommending this tune!

  • Only 325 hits on such a masterpiece - I just dont get it - Its awesome

  • @bubba7208 - Thanks, Bubba! I'll look at your page after I get off work later... Respectfully, Doug

  • Dang, wish I could play the guitar like this....your cover of this is better than the original version! :)

  • Let me know if you ever need some guitar playing. We can work the whole thing over the web. The accordion playing on What it Takes was done that way...

  • Classic I remember this tune, the end goes wee, eee, rrrr! right? super great editing of clips. Nice Dobro, and red fender jazz bass.

The reflections off of the Dobro into the Camera are really cool!

    Very impressive performance and production.

"Let Me Roll It" is one of my favorite McCartney tunes too! Great filming actual recording tracks! Jack Conte is smart!

    Sorry about Fripp.

  • Gary,

I DID put the "wee, eee, rrrr" in there - but NOT at the end... It's actually the hardest part - cuz it goes up past the frets... The Fripp thing was a good learning experience for me, I don't feel abd about it anymore. LOOKING FWD to your next piece now!

  • I love what you did with this song. I've never actually attempted it.

The cuts in the video back and forth went a little quickly for my tastes...felt a tiny bit schizophrenic LOL. (not a flame just my own thought.)

    Again....great version of this tune.

  • this bass isn t have frets ?? You rock guy !

  • Absolutely wild, dude! Dig the screen changes.

  • onto it - i'm in the middle of a recording session, some decent music on the way from me!!

And i just been accepted into a digital media course, so i'll get better at teh editing over the next two years - brac yourself for an awesomeness storm
