TWO LANE BLACKTOP (trailer)

This movie is a true cult classic. I give this 1971 movie five stars.

"[the film] is about communication/not having to talk (the driver/the mechanic) and talking, trying to make a connection when you got nothing to say (warren oates' gto). the girl causes static between the mechanic and the driver and interrupts their language."

That is very insightful. Cool thing is, none of the characters had to say that explicitly -- it was conveyed by the spare acting and extremely deft direction.
