  • A new children's interactive ebook on the life of this remarkable dog will soon be available from the Smithsonian Instuitute. It is called OWNEY, Tails From The Rails.

The United States Postal Museum wants the nation's children to discover Owney''s unique story.

  • OWNEY FOREVER!!! THANKS FOR THE VIDEO

  • The mail went by train untill the big transfer of mail to trucks by the post office under direction of the highway lobby. Letters with service in hours for 3 cents by train were replaced by trucks and now we have snail mail. The mail was most of the income of the private railroad passenger trains. So without that, it died. Today we've lost our good mail service,we have snail mail. Amtrak long distance trains run sold out. While highway and airline lobbyist fight any money spent on rail.
