  • In 2011, as usual, we had several leaf pickups with a vacuum, but near the end of the season when there were huge piles of leaves along the curb, the giant clamp was put into service again.

  • Birmingham has vacuum trucks, too. But this system does a cleaner job for the final pickup of the year.

  • The clamshell loader will work fine when you have straight streets with smooth curbs and smooth paving but when there is any irregularity in paving or curbing WATCH OUT. Suckers also get the leaves off the lawn at the curbs when the piles are high..

  • The pavement would probably prefer vacuums. And hauling off non-reduced leaves...that's gotta be quite a tax bill you get there.

  • someone needs to tell Birmingaham that vac trucks are so much more efficient

  • nice video I got similar video of leaf pickup
