Students & Faculty from UW-Oshkosh, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Whitewater and Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design team together to build a Iron Cupola. The cupola is tested during an Iron Pour. The Iron is made by melting scrap iron by using coal that has been smelted into coke. The Iron reaches a temperature of 2700° F, then is tapped and poured into molds made of sand or ceramic shell. The results are pieces of cast iron fine art.

    thanks, missed that one,

  • I live in Ma. and this is unheard of, especially girls doing this kind of hot dangerous kind of work, im impressed, you guys need to come to Ma. and show some of these collage wimps what work really is, i did some aluminum castings and always wanted to try iron but there is no market for custom parts casting here on the east coast.
