The forest, Rällaskogen, lies on the sparsely wooded island Öland in the Baltic Sea. A golf club, Ekerum Golf & Resort, wants to build 150 summer houses close to the beach. That would mean to totally destroy this small, beautiful and culturally valuable place, where many visitors enjoy the silence and healthy air. Please, support us, spread the word!

  • That's too sad if this lovely place is threatened by development. Surely Ekerum realise that if they ruin this precious place, they ruin their own reputation.

    Good luck Rällaskogen!

  • Thank you for your comment!

I hope that the Ekerums, they are businessmen, realize what good reputation means!

  • Lieber Stafan,

  • ...I would go to the government of the city and convince them: they should give this golf-company - instead of a wonderful paradise - an abbandaned area, a gab between buildings - whatever, - something, which needs to be changed to the better, : then this golfplace would be a blessing for the community, and the chance, that people come there to play, would be much bigger - because of sympathy.

So it also would be a good thing for the golf-company.

    best, Lisa

  • Dear Lisa,

the problem here is that golf club already own this forest! Yes, you heard right! And now they have applied for building 150 summer houses close to the golf club. That is that what we are trying to stop. Many things have gone wrong from the beginning just because the politicians were blind and agreed in selling the forest to the golf club.

  • ...1.they have to say why this place, (why not another one), - to say and to prove.

    2. They have to prove that there is no other place in Sweden, where they can build this golfplace.

    (that is very important!)

I suggest you to try to find abandoned places, perhaps nearby. Perhaps you can find a place, which already is destroyed and while changing it in a golfplace, it would be changed in a much more valuable place for the community....

  • Dear Stefan,

also the film is very fine. It shows the sadness about the loss of a paradise.

These people, who plan to destroy that paradise -

I think, you (all) should demand something:...

  • Dear David,

When I first heard about the plans I just didn't want to hear, it was too sick! For thirty years I know and love this forest. And I'm not alone. When I gave lute courses on Öland we used to make jogging there every day.

  • Dear David,

a long journey begins with the first step. And we can change if many people stand up and say: "no, not in this way, why not like this". And, what is good for the nature is good for us.
