WTTW's Chicago Tonight's special feature on the Great Lakes: Asian carp have been found in the Illinois River, which connects the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan. Due to their large size and rapid rate of reproduction, these fish could pose a significant risk to the Great Lakes Ecosystem.

@struckync They will screw up a multi billion dollar fishery in the Great lakes if they get in there. I have bowfished these things in the Illinois river and its fun but nothing like the money spent on charterboats for salmon and steehead.

carp are garbage fish.
they might be able to survive in lake michigan but i highly doubt theyd survive the subarctic temperatures in lake superior.

USA is the land of the plenty...of inland fish.
That's the reason why white folks don't eat carp. Ironically, it was the early European who brought it over here for food shortage ;D

you know the first thing that comes to my mind is people are starving all over the world. and the fish here are just jumping into the boats. ahhhh it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out the rest of my comment. people want everything fast, fast, right now, this second. fishing couldnt be any easier. take advantage of this and fix the problem at the same time. dumbasses!!!
