Sutherland would never fight as a professional again after this debacle, which is probably for the best.

According to Boxrec, this was actually Sutherland's second pro fight (not his debut). Ten days earlier he had been knocked out in the first round by Danny Wofford, who took a 12-24-2 record into the fight and had lost his last five fights (Wofford would finish his career 17-102-2, the remaining four wins coming against three guys with zero wins and one who was 13-54-2 coming into their matchup.)
