S.T.A.N.D. For Prevention
(Students Taking Action Not Drugs) is an intensive four-day leadership conference for youth.
The primary goal is to inspire leadership among youth to prevent alcohol and other drug abuse and prevent potential injury in our schools and communities.
Participants can be rising fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders. OUR PHILOSOPHY:
Young people, with proper guidance, have the capacity to make a significant impact on society.
PREVENTION WORKS:
Peer-led preventive initiatives are especially effective in reducing potential alcohol and drug problems. Reducing the teenage carnage on the nation's highways will require the collaborative efforts of early adolescents, teens and adults. Assisting teens in developing drug prevention leadership skills, a school wide action plan and a community / school project utilizes our most important resources, tomorrow's adults!
