Real cool, Savard had a real nice mix of power and finesse.

you know what it is about them, is they were warriors back then. just that old fashioned sense of dignity and heart you won't ever find again. 90's was in my opinion the good ol days of the NHL.

the thing i love about the 80's and 90's is that so many players looked great because the goaltending was heinous and the back-checking was neglible.

@NYR21135 Not anymore bud, 'cause not only is there Ovie, Iginla, Lidstrom and Crosby, but now theres Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin,Perry, Stamkos, St. Louis, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Brad Richards, Toews, Kane, Kesler, Eric Staal, Malkin, Marleau, Thornton, Lecavalier, Getzlaf, Selanne and so many more.
Also, the goalies back then were so much easier to fool, compared to the goalies now, who've learned how to deal with the shots, dekes and plays people used to use back in the 90s and 80s.

Don't get me wrong here Savard is one of the greats. But the thing I like best about this video is, how small the goalies look. Shooters could see so much more of the net behind the goalies. I wish things would go back to the way they were.

what i loved about hockey in the 80s and 90s is that there were so many great players the arguments couldnt end on who was great. you had gretzky, robitalle, messier, bourque, neely, savard, hull, hawerchuck, lafontaine, bossy, clarke, lemieux, coffey, chelios, macinnis, leetch, murphy, dionne, the list just goes on and on. now all you debate really is ovechkin, crosby, iginla, phaneuf, lidstrom, pronger. hockey players maybe in better shape today but they cant match the guys from the past.
