A classic tale of ego, desire and heartbreak....
Our protagonist, Mr. X is feeling a little lonely. He ponders the attributes he would most desire in his ideal mate and makes a few sketches to while away the day, eventually creating a design he is most pleased with. A form that satisfies his ego; a complement to his own highly enhanced sense of self.
Alas, it is just a drawing, but a thought strikes with the wind-swept arrival of a number of polygons, tumbling past. Could he build his own perfect mate? With aforesaid ego in full flight, he sets about collecting the passing polygons to begin building his ideal woman, based naturally enough on himself.
First, the legs, followed by the body, all aided by the use of a welding torch he just happens to have on him. He sculpts the body to form a waist, then attempts to add other female features but overdoes this and is rewarded with burst polygons. Disappointed but undaunted, he resumes work, adding a sphere for a head and combing a luscious mane of hair out from it.
Excitement is building as he completes his handiwork and adds eyes to his creation. With the turn of a key, her eyes open, and Y is born. As she stands before him, Mr. X is extremely happy with his invention and he takes her hand in his and raises it to his lips. As he moves to kiss Ys hand, she staggers and falls away. Mr. X is left with only her hand; her disconnected and broken body lies at his feet.
As he stares numbly at her, a female well call her Z - walks by, giving X and Y only a passing glance. X immediately forgets the plight of Y and takes off after this attractive stranger, catching up and chatting with her as they walk away, side by side, Y completely forgotten.
The story ends with a shot of Y, lying broken on the ground but conscious. Her loss is complete and a tear escapes as she fades away.
Good stuff!
