@groundhog2008 I am a Independant and I vote most of the time with Repbulicans. The reason why you are having an issue understanding why other people do not want to pay for others abortions with their tax money is beyond me. Why is it that you want others to pay for murder? Why is it that you want our tax dollards to be prooped up and used as a slush fund. Not to mention the consul of end of life decisions from the doctors. I can hardly expect you to actually read it.

Universal Healthcare is NOT the answer to increasing worker productivity.
As a country, we already can't pay for the bankrupt Social Security System, so dreams of a universal healthcare system are just that: dreams.
Additionally, the proposed Universal system would ultimately lead to poorer service as the free market would be absolved and a bureaucracy implemented. Also removed would be personal accountability for those who need medical treatment due to poor life choices.

Mr Dale,
If Mr Obama wants people to be able to live independently, he has to stop the vaccine manufacturers from causing autism. Those people must be institutionalized for their own safety and can never live independently.
Mr Obama could cure most autistic people and prevent them from being institutionalized if he would simply allow people like me to explain to him how to cure it.

Economically speaking a 1 billion dollar war boat that sinks is a billion dollars in the trash (-labour pay, -operator pay assuming he survives). Investments in the health and education of the masses will yield the safest, and most qualified generations of workers in all the aforementioned fields. For this reason, I believe my country is the greatest at present; however, the USA is, in potentia(potentially realizable), the greatest country that has ever been.

The U.S.A has a rich research history, cutting edge legal system, intricate business models, technological production and development, and innovative cultural/artistic production. They are one of the biggest economic and military power at the very least in the Americas. With so much going for them, an investment in education and healthcare would bring astronomical implications for the entire world.

Universal healthcare and education are the only points where I think Canada is doing better than the states. This is not meant to be patronizing. What I am saying is that these things, in my opinion are an indispensable social safety-net which ensures the smooth functioning of society. Its the oil in the cogs. Having a healthy and educated mass populace is essential.
That doesn't even make sense. I live in Canada, and most people are content about the health care system. No one I know has ever been denied care, or has been put into debt because of the need for care. As for Americans being healthier and living longer than Canadians, Europeans, and the Japanese, I would like to see your sources. Every data sheet I have seen has said much different.
