The first and last planes to take off are KR2Ss with 3100cc Corvairs, the second and third are Sonexes with 3100cc Corvairs. The first plane has a WW 5th bearing and the others have Weseman BTA 5th bearings. You may want to TURN UP THE VOLUME. You will likely be glad you did!

  • Sactu1:  The variation in take off distance/climb rate has much more to do with the pilot than differing aircraft weights and/or flying characteristics. I believe the KR pilots held off on climb for the benefit of the video.

  • Great Video!! Interesting how both Sonex are in the air sooner than the KR-2S. Are they lighter??
