I have the similar model of this lathe its the chester 10x20, i noticed you have removed the sprung loaded locking pin from the top slide. Did you find on yours it was offset by about 1mm. This is causing me annoyances with parting off as i have to line up the tool every time making the purpose of the pin useless. I took of the top slide and it seems like the threaded lock bolt you made the extension adapter for actually comes out, thinking of making a new longer one would that be better?

You are correct. I did take my 'spring' out of the toolpost. I find it only take a moment to get the toolholder lined up. I just run the toolpost holder up to the chuck (not running!) and tighten it down. That's the beauty of the quick change tool holder. All i do is set the block and then each toolholder is correct set. ---John---
