the other thing that sticks out about this game is the genius of Michael McClean who absolutely starred..and the Foostcray fans who barracked their hearts out that day..we made some noise when Edmond slotted through the goal in the 3rd to put us up by 1pt ..that was my all time fave Footscray moment..that play...Hardie's evasive skills to Royal to Edmond who kicked the goal defined our exciting style of play in 1985

just watched a reply of the game which was shown on Seven Two..the umpiring still sucked especially in the 3rd quarter.Steve McPherson made two crucial errors in the 2nd & 3rd quarters..the first mistake was when he ran too far got tackled by Dunstall & Hawthorn goaled..the other occurred in the 3rd where he pushed Judge after a mark..gave away a silly 15m penalty and they goaled..two goals which cost us dearly..i still rate the 85 side as the best Dogs team i have seen..

the umps ripped off footscray in the 3rd quarter bigtime...a nightmare of a day..will never forget the doggies fans booing the umps at the 3/4 time break

Thanks for uploading this. I'm a Bulldogs supporter that was born in 1985 and my dad always tells me how close we were to a Grand Final and possibly a premiership in 1985.
If you can upload any of the rest of the game that would be a bonus.

I have footage of the full game but I can't upload more than about 4-5 minutes of footage due to file size limitations, so I won't upload the rest.
