He expressed appreciation for the exceptional mobilization of the men and women from the Nkam, Mungo, Wouri and Sanaga Maritme divisions.

The CPDM candidate described Douala as a town that truly symbolizes national unity, a town whose geographical location makes it the gateway into the sub region.

The President of the Republic and CPDM candidate specified that his message to the people shall be focused on finance and the economy.

Indeed finance and economy dominated the speech which detailed candidate Paul Biya's economic programme if given another mandate.

He said the country's development has been impeded by the adverse effect of the international financial crisis, globalization, the decrease in the cost of raw materials and many others.

However, Cameroon's attainment of the completion point of the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries Initiative in 2006 ushered in more loans and grants that enhanced the development of the social sector.

He was hopeful that the country whose financial sector has been stabilized by the twelve existing commercial banks and 430 micro finance institutions shall facilitate the creation of enterprises.

He called on the youths be daring, be innovative and be creative announcing a number of measures being taken to simplify the creation of enterprises and the obtaintion of business licenses.

Apart from the creation of a bank for small and medium sized enterprises and a bank for farmers, he indicated that a legal policy to protect enterprises shall be put in place. Amongst other measures announced was,

· The simplification of export and import procedures

· The improvement of the transport system

· Provision of more energy

· The fight against corruption which he indicated is not only a moral but also an economic crime

The CPDM candidate called on Youth to remain optimistic more so as these measures could generate approximately 60 thousand jobs especially if the private and public sectors work in partnership.

To him, this is only possible if the country is stable
