Chaining is when the same type of creature is defeated consecutively. They do not have to be exactly the same, derivatives of the base creature are acceptable. For example Skeletons and its caster derivative Skull defender can be chained together. The earliest effective place to chain is at Lhusu Mines defeating Skeletons and Skull defenders. It is recommended that you buy the Warmage Monograph to chain here. It costs 20,000 from the Bazaar, you need to examine the hunt board 25 times for it to appear. The first time at Lhusu Mines Lamont is a guest in the party, he has unlimited potions so set your heal gambits low. You can also return later in the storyline when you have better weapons to defeat the skeletons in one round. Lhusu Mines is a good place to chain because there is an instance (section) which only spawns skeletons and skull defenders, allowing effective chaining. Also the creatures there re-spawn while the party is still in the instance. However eventually the creatures will stop spawning after about 40 of them have been defeated. You then need to travel 2 instances and back to get the creatures to spawn again (shown at 4:50). Remember to flee past the instance because the chain will break if you defeat another type of creature. When your chain reaches a certain number (random each chain), your chain will upgrade, the first upgrade is around 7. Upgraded chains give better loot and also have a chance to cast healing and buff spells. The maximum chain possible is 999, however there is no need to go this high since you can only carry 99 of each item. With the warmage monograph and without stealing you will have 99 bone fragments at about 150 chain (193 gil each) and 99 iron helms (700 gil each) at about 400 chain. When you go back to town or use a save point the chain is broken.

  • how is your lvl so high and your in a low lvl place?

  • you can go back to the mines afterwards. If you mean why am I there, it's to farm gil and LP since u get at least 1 LP no matter how high your level is.

  • a chain will break if you kill a creature of a different type, return to a town area or touch a save crystal.

  • Highest I got here was a 200 chain but I left as I was getting very bored and my inventory was full of bone fragments and Dark Stones.

  • omg 100 chain lol

  • it IS called a Warmage's Monograph.....fool

  • There is a monograph tha works on them, It just isn't called that.

  • Monographs appear as "Forgotten Gilmore" in the baazar. Most of them cose at least 20,000. They rais the chances that enemies drop rare items but also raise the "Pebble" percentege out of 0. Pebbles are utterly useless as far as I've seen, though they may have a pourpose I don't know about. You NEED to finish the Textera and speak to Gastly in Muthu Baazar in Rabenasta to start your monograph collection. Alos once you become too advanced for these skelitons, try Worgans north of the Ester river.

  • that is the perfect place for make chains
