In our 4th Puppet Master video we show a new transition from back control to the Puppet Master we call the Riddler. We also show another choke called the Unforgiven, a peruvian necktie variation. Jeff "The Wolverine" Barney, Felipe Soto 8th Street Gym, Grand Junction Colorado

  • why does unforgiven and apple crusher looks the same?

  • Re-watch the video, the difference is the placement of your opponents near side arm. If your doing either the Apple Crusher or the Unforgiven from the Riddler set up from the back you would Zombie the arm before throwing the leg over their neck for the Apple Crusher, but in the Unforgiven you skip the Zombie and throw the leg over and squeeze,

  • i got a question. at 4:40 are you completely sure when you let go of his wrist that he can't just unhook his arm and turn into you??? cause it looks like your guy is laying there but his arm is not LOCKED by your foot. an opponent that is freaking out is gonna get his arm out it seems. should you extend your other leg so it pulls his arm back to an angle where he cannot get it out????

  • Good question, but I don't think it will make much of a difference if he frees the arm once the leg is over the back of his neck because the choke is so tight that even with the arm free I don't think he will have any way of escaping. If he frees the arm before the leg is over the neck then there is a move in part 5 for that called the Cleveland,

  • thats way awesome, that should help my tecnique alot!this is matt horwich on my wifes pinkcare bears utube lol!in my ufc fight i realized i should have grabed my other leg to hold dan millers head down when i went from the rubix cube to triangle so he didn t posture up!god bless and have a awesome day everyone!,...matt

  • Thanks for the comment Matt,

I have been following your fights ever since your fight in the Kick Down in Denver and am a big fan of yours. Your UFC fight was great, I loved when you caught him in the Rubix Cube. I would have totally freaked out if you had put him in the Puppet Master. I'm going to film some new videos with more options and transitions off of what we've put up so far this weekend, hope you and everyone else likes them,

  • Why don't you do rear naked choke instead? simply easier and stronger

  • I love these variations, i cant wait to practice this whole puppet master system. :)

  • in the unforgiven, i find that if you extend your leg while you hold on to your ankle, you could easily snap a guy's windpipe, wolverine.

i had to sit out from my blue belt class just for pulling that off cos it was so dangerous.

wolverine, you might want to teach some of the other people there to only leg extend with caution, you don't want to kill anyone.

  • just to make things clear:

-transition from the PM to the back is called THE SOLUTION

-transition from the back(over-under control) is called THE RIDDLER

  • When setting up the unforgiven what is the best way to keep a good base with a hook in or not. And would you recommend not trying the technique if their elbows are in tight? Or how do you troubleshoot that? Thanks wolvie

  • nice stuff its interesting stuff gonna try this stuff tommorrow

  • Damn you ugly.

  • It also seems to me that if you were to be late on the transition around 3:10 and have trouble for any reason with any of the chokes, that you could attack the zombied arm, sort of like a Kimura or the "Bouncer."

Gonna take this to the gym and study it later, though. Badass shit dude!

  • ohhh i see the difference alrdi, its the arm sticking out at 3.56 thx for clearing that up.
