Marble is mined and ground into powder and used in toothpaste, white bread, sold as calcium pills, used in bumpers, paper and quite a few other things.

  • Nancy, it is shipped in slurry form to paper companies in Canada and the USA. The slurry replaces or reduces chemicals used in the paper process. In dry form there is nothing that you can think of that it is not in as it is used as a filler.

  • @carvealegoff Amazing! I never realized!

  • did u use that lovely marble for your mosaic? what fun, how generous of the company to leave 'samples'!

  • @hell0hkitty No, only for making soap. Sometimes I've used the stones, though.

  • Yes. I did use it in the latest batch. I haven't taken it out of the molds yet, so I don't know if it all settled to the bottom or not. I'll find out soon, I guess!
