NBA 2k7 Timeout Glitch

I am not sure that I fully understand this glitch..what exactly does it do?

quickly hit timeout right after you take a shot (or dunk in my case). If the shot is made. voila. glitch.

The time out button has to be pressed in order for the glitch to work, I never said anything about not pressing it.
