The beginning of Tiswas: 12 September 1981

From what I can see from the Teletext information on the tape this is probably from 12 September 1981. It was recorded in the Tyne Tees region. What you see here is all the Tiswas there is on the tape.

This was not 1981, i get a feeling it was 1983.

@womblediehard I'm sure it is 1981. Immediately after it on the tape is an episode of Wildlife On One 'The Mouse's Tale' which was broadcast on 15 September 1981 I believe.

This isn't the first Tiswas of the final series, it's the second.

5th September 1981 was the first one.

I think you've misunderstood. I meant the clip showed the beginning of that programme. Not the first ever Tiswas.

@womblediehard It's certainly not 1983, because the very last Tiswas was broadcast on the 3rd April 1982.

@womblediehard ATV would not have had its ident shown after 1983 otherwise it would have been prefaced with the Central Presents caption

@doubledeckers Apologies you are correct for some reason when i was a child tiswas ended in 1983 but was not the case.
