Tata Steel: Bachendri Pal - Creating tomorrow's leaders through high altitude training workshops.
Bachendri Pal was the first Indian woman to climb the Mount Everest. She is the Head of the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation and conducts leadership training camps across India's mountainous terrains for business leaders of tomorrow.
Tata Steel believes that pushing people to their limits can make then indestructible leaders. Determination is all that is needed to take on the challenges of tomorrow; just as to climb a mountain or cross a river, all you need is strong willpower. People can scale great heights if they push themselves to go on.
Here she talks about her journey and what inspires her to strive for new heights when the going gets tough. She tells us about her home which taught her to nurture her dreams and her biggest inspiration - her father. Bachendri says how Tata Steel Adventure Foundation gave her the opportunity to contribute in helping to build future leaders.
Tata Steel believes that values are indeed stronger than steel. Making leaders is just as essential as making steel. This isn't merely a company policy, but an unwavering belief of Tata Steel. Our conviction deepens each time a new leader rises the surface.
However strong our steel may be, our values remain stronger.
