Don't forget, this lads try to assess films in a other way then you or i do. They may be have to critique a Teletubbies movie on its on merritts, that is something we never have to do. Try to look at Dark Knight Rises as if you couldn't care less about Batman or the Nolen franchise. It's not easy. That's their angle they supposed to have.

Looking back, I somewhat agree that Russel Crowe was definitely outshined by the rest of the cast, but I don't think he was terrible. Other than that I actually think the cinematography was brilliant so I disagree there.

I didn't like it, either, and I love musicals. There were some good songs, but I found the cinematography (and the casting of Russell Crowe) really distracting.

Hard to tell if Ben's closing comment is ironic, if not it completely makes sense why he didn't like the Hobbit
