This 1st video has intent to explain the basic operations involved on the Wings3D's UV mapping

To make easy its understanding, we'll use a simple object (box) and the Unfold option

powered by Wings3D 1.2

  • this was so cool but when i tried it i can't even find 'unfolding' options or cut or anything at all... so sad... I'm already defeated..... grrrrr

    At 02:18 you will see that we need to select and mark some edges for cut and then we'll be able to unfold the mesh - at 05:53, when we'll use the "Continue" context menu option to access the menu where we'll choose among the methods for opening the mesh.

    Anyway, no special resources was used and these operations could be used from version 1.1.12 until the last (maybe older too)

  • Great tutorial. Very nicely explicit. You should put the version of Wings in the comment or at least info, tho. Each version does things a bit differently, and it's sometimes hard to guess the version from the posting date. Thanks for taking the time!
