The only reason 90 percent of you trend chasers even know about The Runaways is because Hollywood decided to transform their story into a largely fictional and overly dramatized blockbuster starring some of the hottest young actors of the moment. Funny how you all seem to hate the movie. Joan Jett helped produce the film and Cherie Currie was very proud of it. Gtfo, proud prats. It isn't like the movie depicts The Runaways in a negative light whatsoever. And who the hell cares if people found out about them that way, anyway. If you were a true Runaways fan, you'd be happy that a whole new generation has fallen in love with them and that they continue to live on as the queens that they are. Seriously. Stfu.

@ritter89 and i have NO fucking desire to watch the bullshit - your description is EXACTLY the mess i thought it wud be just an over dramatised piece of phony postured crap for all the teeny boppers of my generation to watch(and i bet you they only watched it cos they love kristen stewart from the twilight saga or smth) that i have never and do not belong.. its a shame the only way most will know them is through a movie with a twisted story line to fit the drama of hour and wotever sized show..

@ritter89 not everyone did through the movie im 19 n found the runaways through just my pure love of old music-i only found out about the movie about 2 weeks ago LITERALLY!!-i didnt even know it existed for like a year now- cos like see i dont even watch tv cos i hate showbusiness of today so i live in a bubble of the past i dont even know whats going in today and i like it that way..the only way i discovered the movie is cos they're youtubes is laced with the movie vids everywhere.. u.u ...

Everybody (okay, maybe not EVERYbody) says that people that knew the Runaways only from seeing the movie say that we saw it because Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning were in it, as they were in Twilight. I disliked Twilight and only saw the movie because, even though I didn't know the Runaways, from the previews, I thought the premise of the movie was interesting. I became interested in the Runaways and explored other rock bands. Now I don't appreciate as much of pop music as I used to.
