Steve Jobs died today.

In a brief statement, Apple announced the death but did not say where he died. He suffered from a rare form of pancreatic cancer and had a liver transplant in 2009, and he stepped down as Apple's chief executive officer on Aug. 24, 2011.

While I have never owned many Apple products I recognize the contributions of Steve Jobs to the technology industry.

I met Steve on several occasions and was always impressed with his social behavior, and his confidence in all situations.

  • Is there any official statement on how he died? I'm assuming that it was from pancreatic cancer, but I'd like some reassurance.

  • @BloodyFlame0 It sounds like that is the case. It was certainly something related to that.

  • Keep your comments respectful, or I will ban you, permanently. Zero warning, no chance for "I'm sorry" afterward. We don't make fun of people who died, especially those who have contributed so much to our way of life.

  • i don't $ apple products, but i agree w/u that America - the planet lost some1 who, beyond words, inspired me & a lot of people. & who knows how long Wozniak, Bigll Gates, & others I don't know, will be around. seems like when some1 like these leaders dies, i become sadder because they embody great confidence. these leaders demonstrate possibilities even when we don't c that in ourselves. they challenge my soul, my drive, 2wards something better than me.

  • well put Brandon. respect for great competition.

It's NOT about celebrating the DEATH of a visionary genius.. I ADD it's about celebrating the LIFE of that same genius that inspired the company of Apple to constantly and steadily improve.

( toasts a sam adams lite to Jobs) for those who have rocked the Geek world pretty well...I salute you. I just wished he would have chosen or thought to visit Holland, speak to their best hemp & marijuana scientist ...he would have been alive today.

  • r.i.p man now apple is not gonna be that smart

  • R.I.P Steve ... You were iGenius :(

  • Hey! Did you check out Steve Jobs Quotes and Trivia App for your iPhone??? Great app for remembering this great man!!!! :-)

  • What kind of asshole would make fun of Steve Jobs? They must be very clueless or arrogant
