Be the Change

Finalist in the Oasis Homeless Short Film Competition. Congratulations! Brisbane Girls Grammar School.

The film follows two girls in high school who share a similar day to day life. When family issues begin to impact upon one of the girls' lives, it begins to spiral out of her control. While the girls begin with the same circumstances, the family issues introduce vast differences between them. Eventually leaving home seems the only option and no immediate change to her situation seems possible. However the girl untroubled by family issues becomes aware of the situation of the other girl and makes it her business to help. She is the change.

The film was inspired by a wish to improve the lives of others in our immediate community through increased awareness. We tried to make our film something others of the same age could relate to and would create awareness of how extenuating circumstances can have a major impact on a situation.
