This clip is in slow motion so the details are more visible. It's the small details that make the difference between one technique that works and another that fails.
Tip 1: Notice I was in "open guard" before I executed the sweep. I was setting a trap to feel where I could exploit his base. If I went from "closed guard" to sweep he would have felt the sweep coming.
Tip 2: Notice my right foot hooking the bend of his left knee after pulling him off balance. This detail prevented him from being able to jump through my guard to my right side.
Tip 3: My left foot hooked his right floating ribs to prevent him from passing to my left side.
