That's not the only thing they can take credit for. Look at the war, the lies from the politicians etc. They simple repeat they rarely "report". You can go to the media and say anything you want & they will simply repeat it. This is done on purpose, they are more like the enquirer than news. I'd say that the U.S mainstream media is the worst in the world and I say the top prize goes to Fox News.

i believe this is true simply because if they want to die and they want 15 minutes of fame, why not get both by doing something this crazy. our reality in this country is so boring and slow that we tend to think anything is better and this coupled with any kind of mental illness would most likely want people to do something like this to gain the illusion that they became someone important even for a brief moment before they leave this world.

My point is, that horrible reality is better then beautiful illusion. Ofcourse media is using bad news for it's own profit and in many cases to influence people's mind, but I think that bad news are mor eimportant then good news. You want only good news, go to N.-korea.
