On our travels throughout the heartland we've visited small farms, big farms, and really big farms. But there are some that, in size anyway, simply defy classification.

Why people think that the cows would rather be outside in the wild facing the elements then having there own bed, made twice a day, the highest quality feed available provided in abundance, with plenty of room to roam around and socialize with other cows, is beyond me. I run a 100 cow dairy which pasture grazes from may to september during the day. But my cows produce better from sept to april when they are in the barn, because they are happier, healthier, and stress free, thats the bottom line.

are you kidding me, farmers have all the respect for there cows, they treat them like ladies, if the cows are happy and dont get treated well the cows wont produce well which means they wont make any money, its funny how city folk like you think you know anything about agriculture,..

I biggest beef I have with this the cows are fed grain, which is not what a cow should be eating. This creates meat with high omega 6 to omega 3 ratio. We eat this red meat and our omega 6 ratio is out of proportion with our omega 3, which causes inflammation which can lead to cancer. So red meat takes all the blame. Feed the cows grass and the ratio remains at 1 to 1.

i work on a 300 dairy farm and cows run out the barn when the gates a opened because the enjoy the freedom of open fields yes they produce more in doors but that does not mean they would rather be in side.

When the cows are dried off, they will go out on pasture usually for 60 days!, cows have it pretty good in there stalls, lots of room, asses to water, perfectly balanced feed.

well, if i cow gets sick, she gets treated. There no way that you will consume the milk from that cow that is treated, and what would you want, the farmer not to treat that cow and let her die!?, Thats like saying if you get sick or have cancer, you shouldnt get any treatment or antibiotics!! Your a dumbass SUSANNA WILSON!

this is simply amazing and huge! impressive operation. I know people are using this as another opportunity to politically divde us even further but the fact of the matter is, America's farmers are really smart people who find great ways to feed the masses. I know they're in business and making money, (that's the purpose) but this is a great example of just how ingenius they can be. These guys (and gals) ROCK!
