Rep. Peter Roskam described the ABC's of the Healthcare Bill from the House floor tonight: Arrogant, Budget-busting and Crippling to the Economy. The trillion dollar bill over-promises and will under-perform, further angering the American people who already don't want anything to do with it.

  • @pastorellim We agree on one thing: we need to keep manufacturing jobs here. Countries that spend nearly half what we spend on health care (Japan, Germany) or less (China) have a big advantage. We should not let our overpriced health care industry destroy our competitiveness and ruin industry after industry.

We should also use tariffs to encourage domestic manufacturing, simplify our tax code, and invest in world class infrastructure. That will create manufacturing jobs.

  • Your right let's just keep letting the jobs go over seas! We need jobs here open your eyes! We can not be a service based society! We beep to produce something in this country or we are going to get smothered with our ignorance. Do you know china has the ability to meet the entire worlds manufacturing needs? What do we manufacture here that the global consumers need? Auto? Well that worked out well didn't it?

  • @pastorellim Apparently Mr. Roskam thinks we should borrow money from our grandchildren and give it to Caterpillar; and if they have to pay taxes on this handout, he is very offended. I wonder if he sheds similar tears for those who have to pay taxes on their unemployment checks. His phony outrage and exploitation of right-wing ignorance is without shame.

Exactly why does Caterpillar deserve tax-free government subsidies? So they can crowd out the small businesses that create jobs?

  • Good job Mr. Roskam
