Adam i heard you were running for congress. i'm not sure which state, i can only assume new mexico since you seem to be in that area.
taking a political party? anything that isn't D/R gets shut down by them... but the R party is about to self-destruct so you have a good opportunity if a republican runs your district currently.
the tea parties seem to have been taken over by nonsense far-right ideas... oh well....

That section of the constitution doesn't allow for the taxation of income. Taxation of income comes from the 16th Amendment which needs to be repealed. We should pay taxes on what we are willing to consume and not on what we make.

article 1 section 8 "The congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises to pay debts and provude for the common defense and general welfare of the United States: but all duties imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States"
