I never listen to Toscanini.
I consider him the most over hyped conductor of the 20th century. There are some nice moments in his work, but they are far outweighed by rushed, brittle and somewhat out of tune performances.
I don't make much of this on other threads but since you brought him up in the context fo tempo I thought I would call it as I see it.

Signor Walter...devo pensare che avete postato questo pensando com'è stato possibile che questi due artisti,tanto diversi(il più Italiano tra i -russi,e il più selvaggio tra i geniali artisti d'Italia)potevano fare...nonstante i secoli che separano loro..un ensemble tanto perfetto!
'E il ritratto didella vita in dolore...lo seçpecchio dell'inessorabilità delle cose..
