My scared little budgie was raised with a flock at a family pet store and when I played Enya youtube vids for him he came to the home office area and just shivered with happiness.
God bless on the work with bird rescues, I plan on getting more involved when school is over. I plan on posting a vid soon of a lovely cockatoo in Northern MI who needs a doting guardian, I just can't take her in my small apt but she is my special friend when I go get my parakeet's treats @ the store.

I own a African Grey. How does one rescue a parrot? What qualifies a person to rescue parrots?

I just loved seeing these Irena. I really hope that all of your wishes for the type of new sanctuary you envision, happens for you, very SOON! Your birds are some very lucky birds. Like a luxury hotel for them, wow!! ;-)

Ok Irena, This is my second favorite one but you know it's because of Mookie!!! I miss my Taco so much & Mokkie's joyful disposition is so much like my Taco's & I guess this is the closest I can get to having Taco in my life. My heart is with you both!!!

Nice little series of videos, Irena! I'm glad to see that Snowball is still dancing his heart out and that your shelter is expanding. Nice to meet some of the other inhabitants, too. How many birds do you have currently?

Hi Deb!
We usually have between 25 and 30 birds. We're actually filled to capacity right now. We receive calls and emails almost on a daily basis from people who need to relinquish their birds. It's a very frustrating and sad situation because there are more homeless birds than there are homes qualified to care for them. And yet people continue to breed them.
