Even lacto ovos still have a high variety of foods in their diet to enjoy, and in my experience tend to still be grounded and biochemically intact (unless something else is going on). It's once the word 'raw' enters the equation that things seem to get weird...

@hitssquad no, the biggest issues with the SAD (Standard American Diet) are the high amounts of refined/processed carbohydrates and sugars. Secondary would be processed meats.
Cutting refined/processed sugars and other carbs as well as processed meats from the diet universally improves health. Eating healthy things like natural meats (go for grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, etc. instead of factory-farmed meats) fresh organic veggies and fruits and keeping starches low is best.

The only things that makes the SAD unhealthy are its inclusion of vegan foods, and its too-high protein levels.
Just a simple chart to visually show how far fetched some of the diets out there are, and how restrictive they are compared to a healhy diet.
