Didn't work.. I have a powerbook 1.67ghz, and after I followed these instructions exactly, it said that it required the factory disc to install Leopard.

@SupaBananaMan Choose bundled software. Then find iMovie and make sure iMovie is the only one checked then install it. I don't have exact steps because I don't have that DVD.
Hi. I have followed your instructions exactly (twice), but still cannot access the installation from the external hard drive. It seems to have been copied correctly, and looks just like yours, but when I click on the "installation" icon, a window pops up saying that OSX cannot be installed from this volume and I should use the installation DVD. Any ideas on what might have gone wrong? Thanks!

@SuperMabe1 First, connect your external hard drive. Then, go into System Preferences. Under the System section, choose Startup Disk. Lastly, selected your partition with the Mac OS X Install DVD and push Restart.

@darreners Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't work either. It still says that it can't install from this volume, and that I should use the original disk to install. If you have any other thoughts on how to fix this I'd really appreciate it. Thanks again!

@SuperMabe1 The only other thing i can think of is that the version of Mac OS X that you are trying to install is not compatible with your Mac. Are you using the Install DVD's that came with another Mac? That could be the issue.
