this song is about a girl who went to enjoy a nice day in the british countryside listening to her 'top 40 songs' cassette and ended up being raped by somebody and she's cold naked and sitting in her car waiting for help while poptunes play

@Eddyfilm well, i remember reading somewhere that lydon read about this girl's rape in the paper and subsequently wrote the song. i did a little digging and this is all i could find though:
"Poptones' is trying to stick to the basics," Lydon says. "But the wonderfulness of the song leaves us plenty of space to explore it. People were standing up and cheering after the end of it, and I thought, 'My god, it's a song about a poor girl being raped. Show some decorum.'"

@ameltingcloud Errrmmm. Well, the song mentions several specifics but really no generalities holding it all together. That is definitely one way to interpret the song, but there is really no way to get a clear, objective picture of what exactly is depicted, unless of course Lydon said so specifically.
