  • a lil advice...smile(: it helps express what u want to say ..

  • @iskirtapostolic I appreciate the comment, and I agree that smiling can further expressing the message. However, sometimes a smile is not appropriate. I felt that this song expressed the idea of someone wrestling with themselves, and as such I thought smiling would be inappropriate. Perhaps, I was wrong.

  • @bears2002 I still think you have great potential. Consider taking some advanced courses in ASL, learn the grammar, sentence structure, and I know it would make for a more expressive performance. God bless you!

  • @hamolina aw thank you. I really would love to, but my school doesn't have classes, and the only community college near me I have heard really bad things about their teachers. So I don't know where to look other than that.

  • I wouldn't call this sign language. You are definitely using ASL signs you're dramatizing them very well, but poorly creating ASL sentences.

You have potential but you should consider viewing some strong native ASL signers interpret songs.

there's a wonderful song I would like to recommend you view Nozuka Save Him ASL

I am hoping I can do a version of Hold me Jesus and maybe Butterfly Kisses

  • @hamolina I agree completely with you. I do not particularly understand the sentence structure of ASL. But I do recognize that it is not the same as the spoken language. I don't believe I said anywhere that this was ASL, but please show me where if I did, because I would remove that immediately. I thought I had only said I was signing to the song.

    Thank you for your comment!

  • @bears2002 No you did not say ASL. I suppose I'm a purist in the sense that when someone uses ASL signs I expect them to use it in ASL grammar. It's sort of like expecting someone who is speaking English to use English grammar (as opposed to French/Spanish etc.) Realistically, signs aren't always used in ASL grammar. For the laymen viewer on youtube they won't know the difference.I recognize that it isn't Signed Exact English (SEE) either. I'd say it's a form of pigeon signing or "contact sign"
