Using Autodesk maya 2008 expressions to create a Expressions are good to control attributes over time. Expressions are useful for linking attributes of different objects causing the change in one behavior to effect the other. In this bouncing ball example the change in scale Y (the ball height) causes a change in Scale X and Scale Z. Therefore when ever the ball squashes it automatically expands in Z and X .
