@trophy242 Yeah exactly there was nothing wrong with the C16 if you wanted to learn how to program
-
@Benzi75 It was a low priced computer designed to compete with other sub-$100 computers from Timex Corporation, Mattel, and Texas Instruments

It shows the real problen with commodore. Always design to obsolete goals. C16 did not include graphics sprites and have LESS memory.Instead of going to new more advanced products.Originaly the Amiga 1000 was not a commodore desing. The amiga 3000 did NOt include new graphics advances and AGA Chipset was a very small improvevent after 5 years of development.
ETC. In the end thats why it went out of bussines

@Benzi75 Apparently, it was designed as an "entry level" computer to replace the Vic 20 and sold for a relatively low price so I imagine Commodore were trying to target the casual "hobbyist" market who wanted a home computer but weren't too fussed about its capabilities.

There was also a game in which you have to climb a building, avoiding falling things. Does anyone know the name of that game?

Wow spec +3 has great music!Honestly don't knew that.
C16 sounds are awful, but graphics look kinda better than C64 in some aspect,I guess for the wider palette.
Anyway,C64 remains overall the best,in my opinion.

Thing id about the C 16 was it was the poorer relation to the C64. I had a C16 'cause my father was old skool, and didn't rate computers(of any sort). He had no interest in em. I'd have loved a C64, but was well chuffed to have a C16. Man, what could be done with 16K. U wouldn't even get a good porn pic now with that sort of memory. LOL

That's actually larceny. I bet he lived off his commission from that for about a month.

Nice reply ;) I'd kill to go back in time and make the effort to learn code.

"The Commodore 16 was a home computer made by Commodore with a 6502-compatible 8501 CPU, released in 1984. It was intended to be an entry-level computer to replace the VIC-20 and it often sold for 99 USD. The C16 was intended to compete with other sub-$100 computers from Timex Corporation, Mattel, and Texas Instruments (TI)" From Wikipedia.
The good old days :-)

What a strange computer the C16 was. I thought my mates was awesome in 1985 when I was 10 and owned a second hand Vic20.
I can`t believe it came out years after the C64!
What were Commodore thinking!
