Hey Im 16 years old, and am wondering whether this is a good age to start playing, i hope it isnt too late but hey.

I want to get an acoustic guitar sometime over the next few months and pick up a few chords and eventually do some covers like yourself.

im just wondering how long it took you to both learn this song, and how long youve been playing, just to give me a rough idea.

@ChrisWilliamFrith (part 2..) what I mean is, I had started on electric because I used to love punk..and there were about 1000 songs I wanted to learn how to play badly enough that I knew I wouldn't get sick of the electric...99% of people would tell you to start on an acoustic or classic, but I dno - I would say do that if you're sure that you won't get bored of it too quick..its always a tough start learning an instrument..good luck

can you maybe please post the chords you used? because tuning it like the original is so complicated..

@Sab1612 Am , then C, then I keep the C and put my pinky on the 3rd fret of the (low) E string so its like a bassier C..I repeat that until instead of the prevous cord I go to a Dm without the index finger...

chorus is C, then from a C I keep my index finger on the B string and move my middle finger to the 2nd fret of the A string, then I go to an Am..

@ChrisWilliamFrith Just buy a half way decent Acoustic, you'll be surprised how much you can teach yourself or learn off youtube, and only time it gets harder is after 25,16 is perfect i started when i was 14 or 15 so your good dude.

@ChrisWilliamFrith I know i'm a bit late but i was 27 when i picked up a guitar, i'm 30 now.

It's never too late to learn anything especially at your age. All it requires is a bit of comittment. The more you play the easier it is to learn different things because you aren't worrying about the basics. Go kid and i hope in the nine months since you posted that you have started learning. I wish i had done when i was your age, i'd be amazing by now. If the world played it would be a happier place..
