@sexyboi142 I was afraid of that too. But its safe to switch it. You can do it at low speeds but if your going to switch to 4x4 LOW you have to stop and put it in neutral first. And use full time 4x4. part time is for slippery surfaces only like when stuck in mud

@sexyboi142 Do you know now? I know I got the Select Trac too, with the NP242.

It's really easy to switch into 4wd. On mine you just have to let off the gas and pull it in to 4wd full time if the pavement is dry. I Know 4wd low you have to be going really slow, like 1-3 mph.

I know it's not that big of a hill, but unlifted you risk the chance of damaging things running at it like that.

@Bulletsrain he probably doenst kno how to use it. (if he doesnt have the manual) when i got my jeep i didnt kno which 4wd to select lol its set up like this

4WD full time

i never switched betwen them because i was afraid i would destroy my transfer case

@Bulletsrain this jeep is 4WD it has select-trac obviously (4X4 badges are on this car btw) he is just in RWD

mines 2wd with 4wd hi low and i guess a 5spd trans just makes it so much better lol
