i was just wondering if i should mix two different size ram, because i want 4gb of ram but i cant because this computer is only a 32bit os. i know i can upgrade my processor but thats just costs me money. so i was thinking about using a 2gb and a 1gb in my computer. can i use this or will it be bad?

no, not at all. You should be able to put 4gb RAM in a 32bit PC anyway, I see no reason you can't. This computer supports up to 4gb and is only a 32bit

well i have 4gb in my computer now and its only giving out 3gb. it is able to read the full 4gb its just that its not giving me the whole 4gb because i was just doing a little research and ive seen that a 32bit os can only have a maximum of 3gb or 3.5gb if youre lucky... a lot of people have been saying that a 32 bit os can only run 3gb of ram o.O

but can i mix the 2 size rams? a 2gb and a 1gb

Yes you are able to mix different sizes. Another problem you could be having is that, some Video Cards take RAM if the card is using all of it's VRAM. 32bits can support up to 3.5gbs

i hate my hp pavillion it overheats i installed a new copy the cd drive can not be found every time i install the sound it screws up no drivers and the screen is falling of and i have fixed at leats 30 computers but the hp pavillion is impossible

yeah the quickplay sucks, i alllways hit it when i am cleaning it off or whatnot. mine overheats like crazy though, i've had it for 3 years, and its on its way out

This line of Hp laptops do intend to die because they have a problematic heat issue on the cooling part. Inside the VGA chip runs hot and the CPU too, these 2 are actually combined as one heatsink, which makes it easily fail :(

ON the DV9700 series, the shift key on the right of mine is like one small button like the others, which makes it quite unhandy too sometimes. :(

haha if you know, these HP laptops do intend to die in 1 or 2 years, I got received mine from a friend defectiously, and I can try to repair the motherboard of this piece of junk. :D I hope it will work, so then I got one for around 200 USD. Not much for a 17inch laptop :P
