if anyone wants to learn sambo punching techniques (or fedors punching techniques) please buy fedors book it is available online at amazon i would highly recommend it. the guy in this vid is talking complete rubbish fedor does not turn his whole arm over like that he rotates his his hand over 45° so that the 2 large knuckles make contact as they are the strongest and his punch looks sloppy because he explains that instead of punching with your arm locked solid you should whip your fist at target

@jedivvarfare Will you guys stop crying? The guy in the video just learned the punch. You are literally critiquing him on minor differences. Inless people watching this have NO IDEA about boxing or any other Stand Up martial arts... They should know what hes trying to get at..

He is showing you a basis on how the punch is thrown.

Another issue like Rutten stated in a lot of Fedors bouts... Is it can easily result in injury... If you strike a opponent while they are leaning into it, or just in a should etc.. It can really crank up your elbow.. Or even damage your hand.

Its not a bad punch though and packs a lot of power.

Also, those saying Fedor does not throw these.. Its the same style of Fedor's punches. The demonstration is not perfect because the guy is JUST learning it.

I remember practicing this when I saw Diego Sanchez finish Riggs with it awhile ago..

Dident realize Diegos stand up was really not that great at the time..

But I remember just starting out and feeling how much the punch whips.

It gains power not only from the body... But from the whiping of the arm too.

Now that Ive trained though... I can really only seeing it thrown as a Overhand punch to be most effective. Or like you said.. From the Outside.

Garbage. His out/upward elbow and inner shoulder rotation forces him to twist down and away, preventing him form generating power, showing the adversary his back thus hurting his defense, messing his balance. Hitting with the upper side of the hand and breaking its alignment with the arm at contact makes injury possible, since he's hitting with a softer bone structure while allowing his wrist to bend at impact. Fedor doesn't do this. He's draining his capacity for power generation. Pathetic

Hmm the punches you show fedor doing and the punches you demonstrate here are different. Why don't you demonstrate what he does instead?

Anyway this video does show that fedor is hard as nails, I wouldn't like to be on the end of some of his punches fo shizzle.
