@brijmohun This does not mean to get married here, that tradition doesn't exist in Scotland. They are going to the heath or moor. Broom is a small spikey bush that grows there. They used to make sweeping brushes out of the branches, hence the name.

@cocochanelleke I got this song off a Scottish folk song website many years ago and have lost the original mp3. All I can recall about the singer is She was a teenage amateur.
