This is a full dyno test of the new 2010 BMW S1000RR on a Factory Pro/Mustang Eddy Current Dyno. This lightly modified S1000RR became the most powerful naturally aspirated 1000cc engine ever tested on the AF1 Racing Dyno. Power means little on the street or roadracing track without a chassis and more importantly a rider capable of using it. From a pure engineering perspective it appears that BMW did an excellent job of beating the Japanese OEM's at their own game, inline 4 cylinder peak power! Hell, the Germans even beat the mighty Ducati Desmosedicci or D16rr by 7 bhp in top end power and over 25 bhp in the upper midrange. Do I want one, no, not really but, I sure am impressed with stodgy BMW's first attempt at making a SBK capable machine. I will keep my Aprilia RSV4.

  • @bmws1000rrfan No, not my first rodeo. This bike was tested in all 4 modes, this was not in rain mode. My dyno just reads MUCH lower than a dynojet, for an explanation see the FactoryPro site and look up EC997 dyno. The BMW S1000rr is the most powerful naturally aspirated 1000cc bike I have tested to date.

  • @MicahShoemaker oh alright my bad, didnt mean any disrepect, it just seemed like a low reading for the s1000rr

  • @bmws1000rrfan No worries, anytime you see/watch dyno stuff just remember they all read differently for reasons that defy logic and/or SAE standards. The bike is stupid fast to ride once you clear 7k rpm, that is all that really matters!

  • this bike have only 159hp because it is a bad "rodage"

  • Just the type of dyno, multiply the 159 number by 1.19 to 1.21 and you get the Dynojet horsepower number, the bigger one.

  • It did loose a little power down low but barely enough to count, these engines make very little torque at 4k anyway. A/F ratio I could do nothing about on this one, it was not in for tuning but rather for testing of the link pipe without tuning. Yes, the S1000RR is the most powerful naturally aspirated 1000cc engine I have tested to date, even stronger than all three of Ducati Corse's 1998/1999 998RS WSBK bikes which I have also tested.

    Good increase of power, but under 4500 rmp it looks like it has less torque and power? A/F lookes also a bit uneven under 4500.

    Is this the strongest 1 liter bike you have tested?

    And what will a full exhaust system do on power?

  • It is the type of dyno. The 2007 R1 was actually much more powerful than the newest model at 150.7 bhp on this same dyno with a slip on pipe and PCIIIusb and tuning. Dynojets read very high, my dyno reads very low. 160 bhp on my dyno is an amazing accomplishment for a stock-ish bike, even the land speed bike I tune and race, a supercharged methanol injected monster V-twin at 12 psi boost makes "only" 184 bhp on my dyno, but over 230 on a Dynojet.

  • not realy man my bike push 183 hp on backwheel stock engine stock exhaust with akra full and bmc airfilter push it 195 HP on backwheel. why is your bike push 159 Hp ??
